Week 6 North Georgia, Chatsworth 4-1-06
Jesus said, “If I be lifted up, I’ll draw all men to me.” This week has been nothing but lifting up praise to God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. Saturday we were available to God and blessed to be able to be used at the Speedway in Georgia. There were so many hurting and giving prayer requests, many unable to give details but God knows and we prayed with and for them. Please join in prayer for the many with marital problems, three with lost loved ones, some seeking employment or changing careers. There were many with cancer and in the hospital and a few that are healing. It was awesome to see Derrick there and back racing again after his life-force helicopter ride just two weeks earlier at the same track. We had talked a couple of times throughout the healing process and we both wanted God’s goodness shared with all. So at the drivers meeting we mentioned safety a little by explaining how far the children in Japan have to travel to get to school and how for safety they have been trying a special kind of receiver that the children wear. The parents are able to tell when the kids arrive and leave school and some units are high tech and can pinpoint their location at any time. In this race the drivers were required to wear a race receiver that will alert them to danger on the track along with many other benefits. That’s all great, well and terrific but I showed them something better. King David was almost at his ropes’ end and thinking that God had deserted him when all was crashing down on him and he was in the time of need. Then David realizes and remembers in Psalms 30:20 God’s covenant with his people, “He, God, will hide them in his pavilion; in the secret place of his presence.” Then in verse 22, He is aware that God heard his cry. So be of good courage, vs. 24, He shall strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord. I explained Derrick’s terrible wreck and how he called out to God in his time of need in turn two. And because his hope was in the Lord, God presence, healing, comfort, and goodness were bestowed upon Derrick. I cupped my hand similar to an umbrella and covered my other hand as I explained that no matter how fast you go, how hard you drive in low or high if your hope is in Christ and His salvation you have the greatest safety device. I invited anyone else to know Christ today and explained that other Christians can ask and receive safety for all on the track saved or lost and God will grant it if it’s in His perfect will. Christians can ignore the bumper stickers that say, “Don’t go faster than your guardian angel can fly.” It just doesn’t apply. We prayed and God DID grant a safe race for all. I got home around 3 a.m. Sunday morning and spent time with the family before we went to church. Ken Freeman spoke at Grace Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and again tonight and God was lifted up in praise, worship, and the reading of His word. God glorified Himself as over 200 men, women, and children were saved. Several hundred people made several other decisions for Christ including but not limiting; re-dedication, marriage, family, re-assurance, forgiveness, repentance, and addictions. Talk about revival, Wow, this family has a new fire and how can we help but tell others. Our prayer is that the thermometer stays red and never dips to lukewarm.
